Leslie Tyler

Leslie is the head dance coach and the director of Leslie's Dance Emporium.  She is certified through 3 different testing organizations: Dance Masters of Mid America, Chicago National Assoc. of Dance, and DMA's Teacher's Training School.  Leslie has had experience performing with 2 different dance companies, studied dance at Hawaii University one summer, studied with master teachers around the US in Chicago, New York City, Minneapolis, etc.  Leslie has been very active with dance in Iowa, through DMMA and other events.  She is married to Ned Tyler.

Kalian Smith

Kalian is the head tumbling coach.  She has been with LDE for 21 years.  Kalian is certified to teach by testing and meeting the requirements of Dance Masters of Mid America.  Kalian's focus is tumbling and flip flop, however she is well versed in teaching the other classes as well.  She is very active with dance in Iowa, as an officer of DMMA.  Kalian is married to Dwayne Smith and has three children.

Melisa Crook

Melisa is the head clog coach.  She has been with LDE for 6 years.  Melisa is certified to teach by testing and meeting the requirements of C.L.O.G Inc.  Melisa's focus is clog, however she has taught tumbling in her college days, and is capable of teaching other classes as well.  She is married to Matt McCutchan and has two children.

Sarah Pugh

This is Sarah's first year with LDE.  She was a student of Debbie Petersen in Earlham, where she was very active with competition team and small groups.  Sarah has attended many conventions and workshops for dance, including DMA's Teacher's Training School.  She is still currently studying at Teacher's Training School and KinderMusik.  She was recently married to Brenden Pugh this past summer. 

Chelsey Heidemann

This is Chelsey's second year teaching with LDE.  She went to college at the University of Northern Iowa, where she received her major in Education and minor in Dance.  Chelsey is currently teachers 3/4 grade at Clearfield School.

Jessica Green

Jessi has taught for LDE for two seasons.  She graduated last year from Creston High School.  Jessi has been active with our studio since she was young.  Jessica enjoys hip hop, clog, tap, and flip flop.

Jessica Tamerus

Jessi helps out teaching clogging for LDE.  Jessi has been a competition team member for four years.  She has also done solos, duets, and the great "Fiddlin' Four" clog quartet.  Jessi is a Sr. at Creston High School.  This past summer she studied in Chicago this summer at Giordano Dance Center.

Ashley Ostroski

 

Ashley is a former LDE dance student.  While a student she taught for three years, this is her first year back with us.  Ashley has a masters in Dance Therapy.  She has also taught in inner city Philedelphia.
